Holistic protection program through qualitative local partnerships

From April 2024 to April 2025, the project “Comprehensive Protection Program Through Quality Local Partnerships” was implemented with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. Its goal was to create a safer and more enabling environment for vulnerable groups in small communities and towns across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

The project combined psychological support services, trainings, individual and group consultations, case management, legal assistance, and information campaigns, providing a multisectoral intervention in the areas of:

• child protection,
• prevention of gender-based violence,
• organizational capacity building.

Key Achievements

• 8 local organizations were project partners and played a key role in implementing initiatives on the ground.
• 5 capacity-building trainings were conducted for the partners.
• Psychological support was provided to children, parents, and NGO staff.
• Legal assistance and information campaigns were delivered.
• Coordination and partnership culture at the local level were strengthened.

Project Highlights

A fundamental aspect of the project was the involvement of strong local partnerships and the support of humanitarian aid localization. The partners received training, psychological support, and access to resources, significantly enhancing their capacity to respond to community needs.
